They form my ablutions and prayers dueA

One glance of guide such joy and warmth canB

On marge of stream can bloom the tulip plantC

One has no comrade on Love's journey longD
Save fervent zeal and passion great andE

O God at gates of rich I do not bowF
You are my dwelling place and nestingG
boughF

Your Love in my breast burns like DoomsdayH

The cry He is God on my lips is bornI

Your Love makes me God fret with pain andE

You are the only quest and aim of mineJ

Without You town appears devoid of lifeK
When present same town appears astir withL
strifeK

For wine of gnosis I request and askM
To get some dregs I break the cup and glassN

The mystics' gourds and commons' pitchersO
waitP
For liquor of your Grace and Bounty greatP

Against Your godhead I have a genuineQ
plaintP
For You the Spaceless while for me restraintP

Both verse and wisdom indicate the wayH
Which longing face to face can not conveyH
