There was a verdant pasture somewhereA
Whose land was the very picture of beautyB
-
How can the beauty of that elegance be describedC
Brooks of sparkling water were running on every sideD
-
Many were the pomegranate treesE
And so were the shady peepul treesE
-
Cool breeze flowed everywhereA
Birds were singing everywhereA
-
A goat arrived at a brook's bank from somewhereA
It came browsing from somewhere in the nearby landF
-
As she stopped and looked aroundG
She noticed a cow standing byH
-
The goat first presented her compliments to the cowI
Then respectfully started this conversationJ
-
'How are you Madam Cow'I
The cow replied 'Not too wellK
-
'My life is a mere existenceL
My life is a complete agonyB
-
My life is in danger what can I sayM
My luck is bad what can I sayM
-
I am surprised at the state of affairsN
I am cursing the evil peopleO
-
The poor ones like us are powerlessP
Misfortunes surround the ones like usP
-
None should nicely deal with ManQ
May God protect us from ManQ
-
He murmurs if my milk declinesR
He sells me if my weight declinesR
-
He subdues us with clevernessP
Alluring he always subjugates usP
-
I nurse his children with milkI
I give them new life with milkI
-
My goodness is repaid with evilO
My prayer to God is for mercy '-
-
Having heard the cow's story like thisS
The goat replied 'This complaint is unjustT
-
Though truth is always bitterU
I shall speak what is fairA
-
This pasture and this cool breezeE
This green grass and this shadeV
-
Such comforts were beyond our lotW
They were a far cry for us speechless poorX
-
We owe these pleasures to ManQ
We owe all our happiness to ManQ
-
We derive all our prosperity from himY
What is better for us freedom or bondage to himY
-
Hundreds of dangers lurk in the wildernessP
May God protect us from the wildernessP
-
We are heavily indebted to himY
Unjust is our complaint against himY
-
If you appreciate the life's comfortsZ
You would never complain against Man'Q
-
Hearing all this the cow felt embarrassedT
She was sorry for complaining against ManQ
-
She mused over the good and the badA2
And thoughtfully she said thisS
-
'Small though is the body of the goatB2
Convincing is the advice of the goat '-
