A Wind Rose In The Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JEKE

A wind rose in the nightA
She had always feared it soB
Sorrow plucked at my heartC
And I could not help but goB
-
Softly I went and stoodD
By her door at the end of the hallE
Dazed with grief I watchedF
The candles flaring and tallE
-
The wind was wailing aloudG
I thought how she would have criedH
For my warm familiar armsI
And the sense of me by her sideH
-
The candles flickered and leaptJ
The shadows jumped on the wallE
She lay before me small and stillK
And did not care at allE
