The Shepherdess Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAB ABABAB ABABAB

She walks the lady of my delightA
A shepherdess of sheepB
Her flocks are thoughts She keeps them whiteA
She keeps them from the steepB
She feeds them on the fragrant heightA
And folds them in for sleepB
-
She roams maternal hills and brightA
Dark valleys safe and deepB
Into that tender breast at nightA
The chastest stars may peepB
She walks the lady of my delightA
A shepherdess of sheepB
-
She holds her little thoughts in sightA
Though gay they run and leapB
She is so circumspect and rightA
She has her soul to keepB
She walks the lady of my delightA
A shepherdess of sheepB
