We are saddling Don and Laddie	A
Mid laughter and fun and noise	B
And maybe a sigh in passing	C
For vanished holiday joys	B

And Mother is cutting lunches	D
There are only four as a rule	E
But to day another is added	A
For Baby is going to school	E

You ll take her on Laddie between you	F
And hold her tight at the creek	G
And Mother parts with her darling	C
With a kiss on her dimpled cheek	G

You needn t be fwightened Says baby	H
I ll be as wight as tan be	H
I LL give Sister our names and I ll tell her	I

Oh the breath of the summer morning	C
The gleam of dew on the grass	J
The incense of white gum blossoms	K
That strew our path as we pass	J

While Mickey and Pat go racing	C
Over flats where the grass is green	L
But Eileen and I ride slowly	H
Guarding our treasure between	L
	-
She loves every mile of the journey	H
And shouts with delight at the creek	G
Where under the blossomed tea trees	M
The ripples play hide and seek	G

And full of delight is the township	N
With its red roofed houses gay	O
Though Baby would love to linger	I
At the toy shover over the way	O

But the nine o clock bell is sounding	C
From the door of the Convent school	E
Where our darling finds to her pleasure	I
Another kingdom to rule	E

With a brand new desk in the corner	I
A pencil and slate of her own	P
In the sunshine of Sister s welcome	Q
She sits a queen on her throne	P

But drowsily hums the insects	R
Round the bougainvillea flower	I
And drowsy and warm in the morning	C
So long ere the luncheon hour	I

Kind Sister has drawn the blind down	S
Making a shady nook	T
Where Mary Beronica slumbers	R
With her golden head on her book	T
