The graceful palms against the rose flushed sky | B |
Showed gemmed with dew drops and red poppies glowed | C |
Through the rank grass near by | B |

All hushed the air was rapt and clear and still | D |
The earth late racked with pain | E |
Felt it's insensate form with rapture thrill | D |
And hope was born again | F |

But in that garden there was silence deep | G |
All nature waited till a ringing cry | B |
'Rabboni Master ' cleft the dewey air | H |
And swift the listening sky | B |

Flashed into splendour and the sun leaped up | I |
And all creation thrilled with joy new born | J |
Hailing Our risen Lord with ectasy | K |
On that first Easter morn | J |
