Gliding figures footsteps light	B

In the vine clad window seat	K
Listening to the lilting music	F
To the trip of dancing feet	K
But her vision sees a ballroom	L
Where the swaying lanterns glow	M
Over maidens in flowing muslins	C
Courteous gallants bowing low	M
Hear the cooing flutes and violins	C
Tis a waltz song sweet and old	N
Glide along oh river	O
Where the willows quiver	O
Glide along for ever	O
O er thy sands of gold	N

That can sweep young lives away	P
Gone long gone the youthful lover	O
Closed the boyish eyes of grey	P
But the old heart wound is throbbing	J
As she dreams with cheeks aglow	M
Of a dew drenched fragrant garden	I
Where the river breezes blow	M
Over beds of phlox and pansy	C
Waxen jasmine while and cold	N
There amid the gloaming	J
Lover true are roaming	J
Hand in hand in Love s dreamland	E
Where fond hearts ne er grow old	N

For the grand old Faith upholds her	O

But just now her old eyes glow	M
As like dancing flickering turf fires	C
Long lost memories come and go	M
When the boys began to gather	O
In the glen of a summer night	B
And the Kerry pipers tuning	J
Made us long with a wild delight	B

Rings the distant pipers tune	T
Laughter gay of lads and colleens	C
Underneath the harvest moon	T
To the wind that shook the barley	C

On the daisy spangled greensward	K
