Fairies Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHHH AIJI HHKH LMNM AHOH

They don t believe in fairiesA
Those old folk wide and staidB
They ve never caught the glitterC
Of their wings in forest shadeB
-
For them the bush is just a placeD
Of timber cows and cornE
They ve never been up our creekF
On a cool November mornE
-
From mossy banks all dottedG
With violets breaking throughH
Beneath the frondled maidenhairH
Their shy eyes peep at youH
-
They sleep neath tasselled tea treesA
The drowsy summer dayI
Where the tiny crimson love birdsJ
Around them dart and playI
-
The dew drenched nights of SummerH
When gum trees are aflowerH
In foamy waves of sweetnessK
Bring round the fairies hourH
-
This is the time of frolicL
When they go floating highM
On wispy shreds of river mistN
Across the shining skyM
-
What Don t believe in fairiesA
When they re round you everywhereH
See them who needs to see themO
You simply know they re thereH
