Brother Wind Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDAEA FGCGHIJI KLML NANA OAEA

I thank my god for brother windA
So prayed St Francis long agoB
In words of simple joyous praiseC
That fill my heart with sudden glowB
As braced by winter s icy draughtD
With singing soul and strengthened mindA
I humbly join the good Saint s prayerE
Thank my God for Brother WindA
-
For Brother Wind who whispering softF
Brings subtlest perfume on his wingsG
The violet scent of childhood daysC
The lost delight in simple thingsG
For Brother wind who whistling keenH
O er open plain and storm scarred hillI
Cleanses from mind and heart and brainJ
All thoughts of wrong and ancient illI
-
Who wafts from scarce stirred lily bedsK
Incense of early purityL
Or wakes to life our laggard soulsM
With stinging fragrance of the seaL
-
Echoes of Heaven far off and faintN
For weary heart and tired mindA
Sweet long lost memories old and quaintN
These are the gifts of Brother WindA
-
Ah Dear St Francis let me kneelO
Before thy shrine with joyous mindA
Joining my humble grateful prayerE
Thanking our God for Brother WindA
