Adventure Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK MNOP QKRK

We found one evening in the scrubA
a road the timber getters madeB
a winding dim mysterious trackC
and we raced down it half afraidB
-
The wild hop vines grew high aloftD
a winter's chill was in the airE
and trailing sarsaparilla swungF
it's purple glory everywhereE
-
Then curled within a hollow stumpG
down in a gully dim and deepH
we held our breaths with awe to findI
four dingo puppies fast asleepH
-
We stroked them trembling for we knewJ
that somewhere in the forest dimK
there lurked amid the gathering shadesL
the gaunt old mother fierce and grimK
-
The dry leaves rustled back we spedM
to where the homelight beckoned warmN
to supper time and Mother's smileO
and nestling near her safe from harmP
-
We thrilling gazed into the nightQ
where twinkling stars rose high and dimK
above the darksome scrub where lurkedR
the dingo mother fierce and grimK
