Beaumont And Fletcher:iv Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACCDEEF

AN HOUR ere sudden sunset fired the westA
Arose two stars upon the pale deep eastB
The hall of heaven was clear for night s high feastB
Yet was not yet day s fiery heart at restA
Love leapt up from his mother s burning breastA
To see those warm twin lights as day decreasedB
Wax wider till when all the sun had ceasedB
As suns they shone from evening s kindled crestA
Across them and between a quickening fireC
Flamed Venus laughing with appeased desireC
Their dawn scarce lovelier for the gleam of tearsD
Filled half the hollow shell twixt heaven and earthE
With sound like moonlight mingling moan and mirthE
Which rings and glitters down the darkling yearsF
