Ave Atque Vale: 10 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACCBDDBD

Not thee O never thee in all time's changesA
Not thee but this the sound of thy sad soulB
The shadow of thy swift spirit this shut scrollB
I lay my hand on and not death estrangesA
My spirit from communion of thy songC
These memories and these melodies that throngC
Veiled porches of a Muse funerealB
These I salute these touch these clasp and foldD
As though a hand were in my hand to holdD
Or through mine ears a mourning musicalB
Of many mourners rolledD
