The Flower Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CACA DEDE FAF GHIB JBGB

Once in a golden hourA
I cast to earth a seedB
Up there came a flowerA
The people said a weedB
-
To and fro they wentC
Thro' my garden bowerA
And muttering discontentC
Cursed me and my flowerA
-
Then it grew so tallD
It wore a crown of lightE
But thieves from o'er the wallD
Stole the seed by nightE
-
Sow'd it far and wideF
By every town and towerA
Till all the people criedF
'Splendid is the flower '-
-
Read my little fableG
He that runs may readH
Most can raise the flowers nowI
For all have got the seedB
-
And some are pretty enoughJ
And some are poor indeedB
And now again the peopleG
Call it but a weedB
