| Nor always on the plain | B |
| And if we move to such a goal | C |
| As wisdom hopes to gain | B |
| Then you that drive and know your Craft | D |
| Will firmly hold the rein | B |
| Nor lend an ear to random cried | E |
| Or you may drive in vain | B |
| For some cry Quick and some cry Slow | F |
| But while the hills remain | B |
| Up hill Too slow will need the whip | G |
| Down hill Too quick the chain | B |
