Montenegro Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDE

They rose to where their sovran eagle sailsA
They kept their faith their freedom on the heightB
Chaste frugal savage arm'd by day and nightB
Against the Turk whose inroad nowhere scalesA
Their headlong passes but his footstep failsA
And red with blood the Crescent reels from fightB
Before their dauntless hundreds in prone flightB
By thousands down the crags and thro' the valesA
O smallest among peoples rough rock throneC
Of Freedom warriors beating back the swarmD
Of Turkish Islam for five hundred yearsE
Great Tsernogora never since thine ownC
Black ridges drew the cloud and brake the stormD
Has breathed a race of mightier mountaineersE
