Love And Death Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDDAEAFGHGIJE

What time the mighty moon was gathering lightA
Love paced the thymy plots of ParadiseB
And all about him roll'd his lustrous eyesC
When turning round a cassia full in viewD
Death walking all alone beneath a yewD
And talking to himself first met his sightA
'You must begone ' said Death 'these walks are mine 'E
Love wept and spread his sheeny vans for flightA
Yet ere he parted said 'This hour is thineF
Thou art the shadow of life and as the treeG
Stands in the sun and shadows all beneathH
So in the light of great eternityG
Life eminent creates the shade of deathI
The shadow passeth when the tree shall fallJ
But I shall reign for ever over all 'E
