In Memoriam A. H. H.: 99. Risest Thou Thus, Dim Dawn, Again Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFFE GHHG IJJI

Risest thou thus dim dawn againA
So loud with voices of the birdsB
So thick with lowings of the herdsB
Day when I lost the flower of menA
Who tremblest thro' thy darkling redC
On yon swoll'n brook that bubbles fastD
By meadows breathing of the pastD
And woodlands holy to the deadC
Who murmurest in the foliaged eavesE
A song that slights the coming careF
And Autumn laying here and thereF
A fiery finger on the leavesE
-
Who wakenest with thy balmy breathG
To myriads on the genial earthH
Memories of bridal or of birthH
And unto myriads more of deathG
-
O wheresoever those may beI
Betwixt the slumber of the polesJ
To day they count as kindred soulsJ
They know me not but mourn with meI
