In Memoriam A. H. H.: 11. Calm Is The Morn Without A Sound Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEDDE FGGF HIIH

Calm is the morn without a soundA
Calm as to suit a calmer griefB
And only thro' the faded leafB
The chestnut pattering to the groundA
Calm and deep peace on this high woldC
And on these dews that drench the furzeD
And all the silvery gossamersD
That twinkle into green and goldC
Calm and still light on yon great plainE
That sweeps with all its autumn bowersD
And crowded farms and lessening towersD
To mingle with the bounding mainE
-
Calm and deep peace in this wide airF
These leaves that redden to the fallG
And in my heart if calm at allG
If any calm a calm despairF
-
Calm on the seas and silver sleepH
And waves that sway themselves in restI
And dead calm in that noble breastI
Which heaves but with the heaving deepH
