Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRST U

Dead Princess living Power if that which livedA
True life live on and if the fatal kissB
Born of true life and love divorce thee notC
From earthly love and life if what we callD
The spirit flash not all at once from outE
This shadow into Substance then perhapsF
The mellow'd murmur of the people's praiseG
From thine own State and all our breadth of realmH
Where Love and Longing dress thy deeds in lightI
Ascends to thee and this March morn that seesJ
Thy Soldier brother's bridal orange bloomK
Break thro' the yews and cypress of thy graveL
And thine Imperial mother smile againM
May send one ray to thee and who can tellN
Thou England's England loving daughter thouO
Dying so English thou wouldst have her flagP
Borne on thy coffin where is he can swearQ
But that some broken gleam from our poor earthR
May touch thee while remembering thee I layS
At thy pale feet this ballad of the deedsT
Of England and her banner in the EastU
