White In The Moon The Long Road Lies Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF AGAB

White in the moon the long road liesA
The moon stands blank aboveB
White in the moon the long road liesA
That leads me from my loveB
-
Still hangs the hedge without a gustC
Still still the shadows stayD
My feet upon the moonlit dustC
Pursue the ceaseless wayD
-
The world is round so travellers tellE
And straight though reach the trackF
Trudge on trudge on 'twill all be wellE
The way will guide one backF
-
But ere the circle homeward hiesA
Far far must it removeG
White in the moon the long road liesA
That leads me from my loveB
