On Wenlock Edge The Wood's In Trouble Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH AIAI

On Wenlock Edge the wood's in troubleA
His forest fleece the Wrekin heavesB
The gale it plies the saplings doubleA
And thick on Severn snow the leavesB
-
'Twould blow like this through holt and hangerC
When Uricon the city stoodD
'Tis the old wind in the old angerC
But then it threshed another woodD
-
Then 'twas before my time the RomanE
At yonder heaving hill would stareF
The blood that warms an English yeomanE
The thoughts that hurt him they were thereF
-
There like the wind through woods in riotG
Through him the gale of life blew highH
The tree of man was never quietG
Then 'twas the Roman now 'tis IH
-
The gale it plies the saplings doubleA
It blows so hard 'twill soon be goneI
Today the Roman and his troubleA
Are ashes under UriconI
