As Through The Wild Green Hills Of Wyre Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDCCEEFFGGHHIICC JJKKLLMMCCDDNNOO

As through the wild green hills of WyreA
The train ran changing sky and shireA
And far behind a fading crestB
Low in the forsaken westB
Sank the high reared head of CleeC
My hand lay empty on my kneeD
Aching on my knee it layC
That morning half a shire awayC
So many an honest fellow's fistE
Had well nigh wrung it from the wristE
Hand said I since now we partF
From fields and men we know by heartF
For strangers' faces strangers' landsG
Hand you have held true fellows' handsG
Be clean then rot before you doH
A thing they'll not believe of youH
You and I must keep from shameI
In London streets the Shropshire nameI
On banks of Thames they must not sayC
Severn breeds worse men than theyC
And friends abroad must bear in mindJ
Friends at home they leave behindJ
Oh I shall be stiff and coldK
When I forget you hearts of goldK
The land where I shall mind you notL
Is the land where all's forgotL
And if my foot returns no moreM
To Teme nor Corve nor Severn shoreM
Luck my lads be with you stillC
By falling stream and standing hillC
By chiming tower and whispering treeD
Men that made a man of meD
About your work in town and farmN
Still you'll keep my head from harmN
Still you'll help me hands that gaveO
A grasp to friend me to the graveO
