Too Late Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDFGHGHII

Had you but shown me living what you showA
Now I am gone to keep my grave plot greenB
And I but known what vainly now I knowA
Lying here alone how happy had I beenC
If you with smiles had gladdened our joint homeD
As now you drench my tenement with tearsE
Up life's ascent together had we clombD
And traversed hand in hand the slope of yearsF
Still is it solacing to feel you layG
Upon my sepulchre devoted flowersH
When hitherward you wend your widowed wayG
'Neath scorching sunshine or through drifting showersH
Pity that love is ofttimes forced by FateI
In this unpunctual World to come too lateI
