Time-s Weariness Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG| Slow Time that carrieth such a monstrous load | A |
| From every stage and hostel of the Past | B |
| Do you not weary of the endless road | A |
| And ask how long Life's journeying will last | B |
| Still growing burden on your patient back | C |
| Piled are the medley miseries of mankind | D |
| No bourne in sight along the lengthening track | C |
| No comfort seen before you or behind | D |
| Should you but swerve or stagger in your pace | E |
| Hope with strained halter tuggeth you along | F |
| And where old sores still leave their smarting trace | E |
| Hard on your heels Fate plies its knotted thong | F |
| So must you on though panting and distressed | G |
| Not even death for solace or for rest | G |
