Resignation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFBB| Since we the march of Time can not arrest | A |
| Keep you in step with him till Time shall end | B |
| Thus will you journey with more easeful breast | A |
| Nor mar the rhythm that you cannot mend | B |
| Nor ever yearn impatiently to reap | C |
| Harvest allotted unto mellower years | D |
| But having sown the seed take care to keep | C |
| Its growth from tares till soaring stem appears | D |
| Neither when Summer from your life shall wane | E |
| And Autumn fruit keep dropping from the bough | F |
| Look back and sigh regretfully in vain | E |
| For joys no longer seasonable now | F |
| Thus will your hours make music to the end | B |
| And Life you loved so become Death your friend | B |
