Resignation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFBBSince we the march of Time can not arrest | A |
Keep you in step with him till Time shall end | B |
Thus will you journey with more easeful breast | A |
Nor mar the rhythm that you cannot mend | B |
Nor ever yearn impatiently to reap | C |
Harvest allotted unto mellower years | D |
But having sown the seed take care to keep | C |
Its growth from tares till soaring stem appears | D |
Neither when Summer from your life shall wane | E |
And Autumn fruit keep dropping from the bough | F |
Look back and sigh regretfully in vain | E |
For joys no longer seasonable now | F |
Thus will your hours make music to the end | B |
And Life you loved so become Death your friend | B |
