Look Up, Desponding Hearts! See, Morning Sallies Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEEGG

Look up desponding hearts See Morning salliesA
From out her tents behind the screening hillB
And speeds her glittering lances on the valleysA
Where hostile mists unconscious slumber stillB
Roused from their vain security they clamberC
Up the far slopes and seek the open skyD
Till hill and dale are tinged with gold and amberC
The spoils of victory from those that flyD
Thus when as though surrendered to the NightE
Men's spirits sleep shall wakeful Freedom burstF
With piercing ray even here and flood with lightE
Each skulking nook by loutish custom curstE
But in the glow of victory will spareG
Turning all ill to good all foul to fairG
