Here, Where The Vine And Fig Bask Hand In Hand Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACBCBCB

Here where the vine and fig bask hand in handA
And the hot lizard lies along the wallB
Blinded I shrink where cypress shadows fallB
And gaze upon the far off mountains blandA
Then down the dusty track Lorenzo plannedA
Watch the slow oxen oscillating crawlB
Sleek in the sultry glare and feel withalB
Half alien still in a familiar landA
But when from out the stone pine slopes that riseC
In the clear ether black against the blueB
The cuckoo suddenly calls I close mine eyesC
In visionary rapture think of youB
Hear the home music of your Kentish skiesC
And dream that I am drenched with English dewB
