Grata Juventas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABA CDCDC EDEDF GDGDG

She trembles when I touchA
The tips of scarce grown fingersB
Yet seems to think it overmuchA
If for a moment lingersB
Grasp that I hardly meant for suchA
-
She clutcheth toy or bookC
Or female hand beside herD
Now with askant unsettled lookC
Inviteth then doth hide herD
Like struggling lily in a brookC
-
Anon she darteth glanceE
Athwart averted shoulderD
But when encouraged I advanceE
Asudden waxing colderD
Her gaze lacks all significanceF
-
O were she younger stillG
Or more than a beginnerD
I might control my troubled willG
Or give it rein and win herD
But now she is nor good nor illG
