Whence the main harvest hath been gathered in | A |
The sheaves of glory you are fain to win | A |
Long since were stored round many a household name | B |
The reapers of the Past who timely came | B |
And brought to end what none can now begin | A |
Yet in the stubbles of renown 'tis right | C |
To stoop and gather the remaining ears | D |
And carry homeward in the waning light | C |
What hath been left us by our happier peers | D |
So that befall what may we be not quite | C |
Famished of honour in the far off years | D |
