Farewell Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH| Farewell I breathe that wonted prayer | A |
| But oh though countless leagues divide | B |
| Our gaze our grasp they shall not tear | A |
| My soul my spirit from thy side | B |
| Waking or sleeping thou shalt own | C |
| My fervour hovers round thee still | D |
| And when thou deem'st thyself alone | C |
| My whispers shall the silence fill | D |
| - | |
| And as in summer's ardent days | E |
| The sun withdraws not all his light | F |
| But long past setting twilight rays | E |
| Lingering illumine half the night | F |
| So shall our Love's enduring glow | G |
| Through lonely hours its radiance pour | H |
| O'er our dark lot some comfort throw | G |
| Until we blend and burn once more | H |
