Awake! Awake! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GEHEIBJB KEL MENE

Awake awake for the Springtime's sakeA
March daffodils too long dreamingB
The lark is high in the spacious skyC
And the celandine's stars are gleamingB
The gorse is ablaze and the woodland spraysD
Are as purple as August heatherE
The buds unfurl and mavis and merleF
Are singing duets togetherE
-
The rivulets run first one by oneG
Then meet in the swirling riverE
And on out peeping roots the sun god shootsH
The shafts of his golden quiverE
In the hazel copse the thrush never stopsI
Till with music the world seems ringingB
And the milkmaid hale as she carries her pailJ
Goes home to the dairy singingB
-
And the swain and his sweet in the love lanes meetK
And welcome and face each otherE
Till he folds her charms in his world wide armsL
With kisses that blind and smother ''-
Then the daffodils came aflame aflameM
In orchard and garth and coverE
And out April leapt first smiled then weptN
And longed for her May day loverE
