Alea Jacta Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCCB DEFFFE GHIIIJ

Dearest I know thee wise and goodA
Beloved by all the bestB
With fancy like Ithuriel's spearC
A judgment proof 'gainst rage or fearC
Heart firm through many a stormy yearC
And conscience calm in restB
-
Why should I let my wayward feetD
Cross the fair threshold of thy lifeE
My hopes and cares of little worthF
Drag down thy heavenlier part to earthF
And like strange discord marring mirthF
Fill thy sweet soul with strifeE
-
But though such fears will cloud my brainG
Nay though stern Time their truth should proveH
Yet none the less I bid thee takeI
My life into thine own forsakeI
Thy high heart bid it beat and breakI
Like mine but like mine loveJ
