A Sleepless Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCAABCADADAAD| Within the hollow silence of the night | A |
| I lay awake and listened I could hear | B |
| Planet with punctual planet chiming clear | C |
| And unto star star cadencing aright | A |
| Nor these alone cloistered from deafening sight | A |
| All things that are made music to my ear | B |
| Hushed woods dumb caves and many a soundless mere | C |
| With Arctic mains in rigid sleep locked tight | A |
| But ever with this chant from shore and sea | D |
| From singing constellation humming thought | A |
| And life through time's stops blowing variously | D |
| A melancholy undertone was wrought | A |
| And from its boundless prison house I caught | A |
| The awful wail of lone Eternity | D |
