A Farewell To Youth Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDDC

Ere that I say farewell to youth and takeA
The homely road that leads to life's declineB
Let me be sure again I shall not pineB
To taste the bliss you bid me to forsakeA
That Spring's returning raptures will not wakeA
Too late repentance for abjuring mineB
Nor the old sweets I pledge me to resignB
Behind them leave the bitterness of acheA
Yet is there nothing of one's generous primeC
To bear me kindred company to the endD
Some passionate longing some belief sublimeC
Some wrong to right some failure to befriendD
Leave me but these I care not where I wendD
But down life's slope go hand in hand with TimeC
