Winter Evening Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPNQRS SOTPABCSSQRS

The storm wind covers the skyA
Whirling the fleecy snow driftsB
Now it howls like a wolfC
Now it is crying like a lost childD
Now rustling the decayed thatchE
On our tumbledown roofF
Now like a delayed travellerG
Knocking on our window paneH
Our wretched little cottageI
Is gloomy and darkJ
Why do you sit all silentK
Hugging the window old granL
Has the howling of the stormM
Wearied you at last dear friendN
Or are you dozing fitfullyO
Under the spinning wheel's hummingP
Let us drink dearest friendN
To my poor wasted youthQ
Let us drink from grief Where's the glassR
Our hearts at least will be lightenedS
Sing me a song of how the bluetitS
Quietly lives across the seaO
Sing me a song of how the young girlT
Went to fetch water in the morningP
The storm wind covers the skyA
Whirling the fleecy snow driftsB
Now it howls like a wolfC
Now it is crying like a lost childS
Let us drink dearest friendS
To my poor wasted youthQ
Let us drink from grief Where's the glassR
Our hearts at least will be lightenedS
