Thoughts Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQDQR FSFTFUVWGEQF

If I walk the noisy streetsA
Or enter a many thronged churchB
Or sit among the wild young generationC
I give way to my thoughtsD
I say to myself the years are fleetingE
And however many there seem to beF
We must all go under the eternal vaultG
And someone s hour is already at handH
When I look at a solitary oakI
I think the patriarch of the woodsJ
It will outlive my forgotten ageK
As it outlived that of my grandfathersL
If I dandle a young infantM
Immediately I think farewellN
I will yield my place to youO
For I must fade while your flower bloomsP
Each day and every hourQ
I habitually follow in my thoughtsD
Trying to guess from their numberQ
The year which brings my deathR
And where will fate send death to meF
In battle in my travels or on the seasS
Or will the neighbouring valleyF
Receive my chilled ashesT
And although to the senseless bodyF
It is indifferent wherever it rotsU
Yet close to my beloved countrysideV
I still would prefer to restW
And let it be beside the grave s vaultG
That young life forever will be playingE
And impartial indifferent natureQ
Eternally be shining in beautyF
