The High Road In Winter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FAAA AAAA

Between the rolling vapoursA
The moon glides soft and brightB
Across the dreary fallowsA
She casts a mournful lightB
-
Along the wintry high roadC
A troika moves fleetD
Its little bells are ringingE
One silver tone and sweetD
-
Some echo of my countryF
The driver's song recallsA
The memory of love yearningsA
And noisy bacchanalsA
-
No lights no black roofed dwellingsA
Silence and snow I seeA
For mile on mile the road postsA
In striped monotonyA
