Bound For Your Distant Home Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDE FGHGIJEJ KJKJLMLM

Bound for your distant homeA
you were leaving alien landsB
In an hour as sad as I ve knownC
I wept over your handsB
My hands were numb and coldD
still trying to restrainE
you whom my hurt toldD
never to end this painE
-
But you snatched your lips awayF
from our bitterest kissG
You invoked another placeH
than the dismal exile of thisG
You said When we meet againI
in the shadow of olive treesJ
we shall kiss in a love without painE
under cloudless infinitiesJ
-
But there alas where the skyK
shines with blue radianceJ
where olive tree shadows lieK
on the waters glittering danceJ
your beauty your sufferingL
are lost in eternityM
But the sweet kiss of our meetingL
I wait for it you owe it meM
