Summer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEEDDFFDDCCDDDD GHIJKKLLMHDDNN

See what delights in sylvan scenes appearA
Descending Gods have found Elysium hereB
In woods bright Venus with Adonis stray'dC
And chaste Diana haunts the forest shadeC
Come lovely nymph and bless the silent hoursD
When swains from shearing seek their nightly bow'rsD
When weary reapers quit the sultry fieldE
And crown'd with corn their thanks to Ceres yieldE
This harmless grove no lurking viper hidesD
But in my breast the serpent Love abidesD
Here bees from blossoms sip the rosy dewF
But your Alexis knows no sweets but youF
Oh deign to visit our forsaken seatsD
The mossy fountains and the green retreatsD
Where e'er you walk cool gales shall fan the gladeC
Trees where you sit shall crowd into a shadeC
Where e'er you tread the blushing flow'rs shall riseD
And all things flourish where you turn your eyesD
Oh How I long with you to pass my daysD
Invoke the muses and resound your praiseD
Your praise the birds shall chant in ev'ry groveG
And winds shall waft it to the pow'rs aboveH
But wou'd you sing and rival Orpheus' strainI
The wond'ring forests soon shou'd dance againJ
The moving mountains hear the pow'rful callK
And headlong streams hang list'ning in their fallK
But see the shepherds shun the noon day heatL
The lowing herds to murm'ring brooks retreatL
To closer shades the panting flocks removeM
Ye Gods And is there no relief for LoveH
But soon the sun with milder rays descendsD
To the cool ocean where his journey endsD
On me Love's fiercer flames for ever preyN
By night he scorches as he burns by dayN
