On Mr. Gay Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGF

Of Manners gentle of Affections mildA
In Wit a Man Simplicity a ChildA
With native Humour temp'ring virtuous RageB
Form'd to delight at once and lash the ageB
Above Temptation in a low EstateC
And uncorrupted ev'n among the GreatC
A safe Companion and an easy FriendD
Unblam'd thro' Life lamented in thy EndD
These are Thy Honours not that here thy BustE
Is mix'd with Heroes or with Kings thy dustE
But that the Worthy and the Good shall sayF
Striking their pensive bosomsF
HereG
lies GAYF
