The Bane Of The Cancered Soul Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBCDED DFGFHIJK LMNMOPQP

There is no god in EnglandA
I learned of that this dayB
For when a man is strickenC
He has no more to sayB
He lies in expectationC
The end to shortly beD
Torment is blindly gazing outE
Through eyes that barely seeD
-
The blaze within his bodyD
Radiates and yetF
The chilling of his very soulG
Allows him to forgetF
With sonance all around himH
The sobbing and the tearsI
He listens to so many wordsJ
Whereas he hardly hearsK
-
And so within his restless mindL
His hopes are all he'll keepM
All he'll find to warm his heartN
As those about him weepM
And in the darkness of the hourO
When all is done and saidP
He sleeps the sleep that comes to passQ
And rapes his weary headP
