Stay Not In Grief Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACA DEDFG HIHJK LMLLLL

You may grieve on this darkest of daysA
You may weep tears of demulcent dewB
And ponder the wonder of God's cruelest waysA
Though ne'er understand their reason or rhymeC
Nor unravel the ruse that he ruthlessly playsA
-
Alone in your anguish your tempest and rainD
Far from the sunshine high summer once broughtE
Forlorn in the torture of sadness and painD
Where lightness and brightness have now disappearedF
Bereft in the wilderness alone once againG
-
Below the clouds drifting blackened and lostH
The soul becomes naked banished and damnedI
Mere thoughts become worthless tumbled and tossedH
And all is now nought in a world void of careJ
The price you must pay now the grief is the costK
-
And though in the ending when all has been saidL
Nil desperandum as faith shall go onM
And then all the reading has rudely been readL
And all the misleading has surmounted insteadL
Yet when all the bleeding has bravely been bledL
Don't grieve for too long or you'll waken the deadL
