I am a divergent wight now as you see | A |
My soul has become so much more infinite | C |
And so with contrasting ideas I now agree | A |

I am no wiser despite the fleeting years | E |
though I exist in the hope that until | D |
Or that time comes when I am able | F |
All my aspirations I may yet fulfil | F |

There was a time when I saw things very clear | G |
Though that is not exactly so today | H |
There was a time when I held things very dear | G |
But now I am older I admit to my concerns | I |
Though when I was young I harboured no fear | G |

I now view friends in a different way | H |
Without them what would a person's existence be | A |
Without them what would be left to say | H |
Even if at times you disagree with friends | J |
You keep them close as your allies for another day | H |

So the one I was I no longer am | K |
Although my own god has survived intact | L |
Other mortals' idols I no longer damn | K |
As each and every one of us has his own convictions | M |
