Midnight Inside My Head Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABACA DEDFD GHGIG GJGKG AEALAThe hour boldly strikes midnight inside my head | A |
I have already endured the long and thoughtful day | B |
I am courting precious ambitions of sleep and bed | A |
But there remain still things for me to do | C |
So many untitled pages are left unread unsaid | A |
- | |
It's night time within and so very dark | D |
I wonder if I am truly able to see | E |
But inside my head I detect a forlorn spark | D |
Distant sure but just bright enough | F |
It's an uncertain voyage on which my ideations embark | D |
- | |
I see before me a further adventurous day looming | G |
Awaiting the daylight which is no longer here | H |
I think of my existence my thoughts consuming | G |
And devouring these ideas until it has nourished its fill | I |
Clouds of conceptions or misconceptions are forever pluming | G |
- | |
As I live and breathe in order to stagger along | G |
I stumble blindly through this darkness of mine | J |
I have grown weak now but my mind stays strong | G |
I am conscious of all the tasks I must perform | K |
And place things in the order in which they belong | G |
- | |
I longingly look forward to the morning's golden thread | A |
Birds will sweetly sing and the sun will illuminate me | E |
All my words are now coloured over with blue and red | A |
But tomorrow a new day is born and I will remember them | L |
Though for now maybe for ever it's still midnight inside my head | A |
