| The tempest comes and goes | B |
| The day could see a cloudburst hail | C |
| To soak you through and through | D |
| Yet silver raindrops deftly fall | A |
| To bathe away the blue | D |
| - | |
| As thunder quakes the path of life | E |
| Like cannons in the sky | F |
| And lightning cutting like a knife | E |
| An electric charge on high | F |
| When icy drops sleet all about | G |
| And crisis canters near | H |
| Then windy blows that scream and shout | G |
| Bombard the soul with fear | H |
| - | |
| So now I'm old though seldom sad | I |
| I think of days long gone | J |
| I smile about the good and bad | I |
| And savour every one | K |
| Although the darkened clouds may drift | L |
| And bluster out their rains | M |
| I still salute a special gift | L |
| The sunshine here remains | M |
