I had a pennyA
A bright new pennyA
I took my pennyA
To the market squareB
I wanted a rabbitC
A little brown rabbitC
And I looked for a rabbitC
'Most everywhereB
-
For I went to the stall where they sold sweet lavenderD
Only a penny for a bunch of lavenderD
Have you got a rabbit 'cos I don't want lavenderD
But they hadn't got a rabbit not anywhere thereB
-
I had a pennyA
And I had another pennyA
I took my penniesE
To the market squareB
I did want a rabbitC
A little baby rabbitC
And I looked for rabbitsF
'Most everywhereB
-
And I went to the stall where they sold fresh mackerelG
Now then Tuppence for a fresh caught mackerelG
Have you got a rabbit 'cos I don't like mackerelG
But they hadn't got a rabbit not anywhere thereB
-
I found a sixpenceF
A little white sixpenceF
I took it in my handH
To the market squareB
I was buying my rabbitC
I do like rabbitsF
And I looked for my rabbitC
'Most everywhereB
-
So I went to the stall where they sold fine saucepansF
Walk up walk up sixpence for a saucepanI
Could I have a rabbit 'cos we've got two saucepansF
But they hadn't got a rabbit not anywhere thereB
-
I had nuffin'I
No I hadn't got nuffin'I
So I didn't go downI
To the market squareB
But I walked on the commonI
The old gold commonI
And I saw little rabbitsF
'Most everywhereB
-
So I'm sorry for the people who sell fine saucepansF
I'm sorry for the people who sell fresh mackerelG
I'm sorry for the people who sell sweet lavenderD
'Cos they haven't got a rabbit not anywhere thereB
