Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDCDEFEEF GHHIJJKG BLLBMM NOPQORR STPUTVV

Up and lead the dance of FateA
Lift the song that mortals hateA
Tell what rights are ours on earthB
Over all of human birthB
Swift of foot to avenge are weC
He whose hands are clean and pureD
Naught our wrath to dread hath heC
Calm his cloudless days endureD
But the man that seeks to hideE
Like him his gore bedew d handsF
Witnesses to them that diedE
The blood avengers at his sideE
The Furies' troop forever standsF
-
O'er our victim come beginG
Come the incantation singH
Frantic all and maddeningH
To the heart a brand of fireI
The Furies' hymnJ
That which claims the senses dimJ
Tuneless to the gentle lyreK
Withering the soul withinG
-
The pride of all of human birthB
All glorious in the eye of dayL
Dishonored slowly melts awayL
Trod down and trampled to the earthB
Whene'er our dark stoled troop advancesM
Whene'er our feet lead on the dismal dancesM
-
For light our footsteps areN
And perfect is our mightO
Awful remembrances of guilt and crimeP
Implacable to mortal prayerQ
Far from the gods unhonored and heaven's lightO
We hold our voiceless dwellings dreadR
All unapproached by living or by deadR
-
What mortal feels not aweS
Nor trembles at our nameT
Hearing our fate appointed power sublimeP
Fixed by the eternal lawU
For old our office and our fameT
Might never yet of its due honors failV
Though 'neath the earth our realm in unsunned regions paleV
