My God, I Thank Thee Who Hast Made Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDB AEFEGE CHIJH KLMLNL OPQPRP

My God I thank Thee who hast madeA
The earth so brightB
So full of splendour and of joyC
Beauty and lightB
So many glorious things are hereD
Noble and rightB
-
I thank Thee too that Thou hast madeA
Joy to aboundE
So many gentle thoughts and deedsF
Circling us roundE
That in the darkest spot of earthG
Some love is foundE
-
I thank Thee more that all our joyC
Is touched with painH
That shadows fall on brightest hoursI
So that earth's bliss may be our guideJ
And not our chainH
-
For Thou who knowest Lord how soonK
Our weak heart clingsL
Hath given us joys tender and trueM
Yet all with wingsL
So that we see gleaming on highN
Diviner thingsL
-
I thank Thee Lord that Thou hast keptO
The best in storeP
We have enough yet not too muchQ
To long for moreP
A yearning for a deeper peaceR
Not known beforeP
