Envy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDB EFAFGF HAIAJA KLGLML

He was the first always FortuneA
Shone bright in his faceB
I fought for years with no effortC
He conquered the placeB
We ran my feet were all beedingD
But he won the raceB
-
Spite of his many successesE
Men loved him the sameF
My one pale ray of good fortuneA
Met scoffing and blameF
When we erred they gave him pityG
But me only shameF
-
My home was still in the shadowH
His lay in the sunA
I longed in vain what he asked forI
It straightway was doneA
Once I staked all my heart's treasureJ
We played and he wonA
-
Yes and just now I have seen himK
Cold smiling and blestL
Laid in his coffin God help meG
While he is at restL
I am cursed still to live evenM
Death loved him the bestL
