Doubting Heart Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDDB EEFCGGGH IIJCEEEJ KKLCMMML

WHERE are the swallows fledA
Frozen and deadA
Perchance upon some bleak and stormy shoreB
O doubting heartC
Far over purple seasD
They wait in sunny easeD
The balmy southern breezeD
To bring them to their northern homes once moreB
-
Why must the flowers dieE
Prison d they lieE
In the cold tomb heedless of tears or rainF
O doubting heartC
They only sleep belowG
The soft white ermine snowG
While winter winds shall blowG
To breathe and smile upon you soon againH
-
The sun has hid its raysI
These many daysI
Will dreary hours never leave the earthJ
O doubting heartC
The stormy clouds on highE
Veil the same sunny skyE
That soon for spring is nighE
Shall wake the summer into golden mirthJ
-
Fair hope is dead and lightK
Is quench d in nightK
What sound can break the silence of despairL
O doubting heartC
Thy sky is overcastM
Yet stars shall rise at lastM
Brighter for darkness pastM
And angels silver voices stir the airL
